Work in the 21st Century (Part 1)

21st-century-skillsIn the 1990s the world witnessed a rapid international expansion of business and industries.

International mergers and partnerships became common as companies strive to remain competitive and to increase profits.

American workers witnessed their jobs moving to south and Central America–even to Asia

And the result was that few Americans wanted to leave their country (unlike workers in Europe)

Without question this trend will continue to accelerate into the 21st century

Also we have to accept the fact that workers will seek opportunities on a global basis and will face demands on an international level.

Also workers will be rootless in the location of their work as they will need to adapt to how the changing environment is currently mobile…

Not only workers will be rootless in their employment settings and home towns that are concerned…

They will become rootless in their career world too…

It is probably that those entering the workforce in the new century will experience three to seven distinctly different careers over their working lifetime…

These frequent career changes will require educational retooling in order to find and enter new and available career opportunities…

Thus the traditional of one life one career became a memoir of our ancestors…
