Are emotions key to understanding life?

Everyone asks the big questions at least once or twice in their lives:
“What are the meaning and significance of life?” or “Why am I here?
For traditional existentialists these questions are common enough to be asked…
But they are not obvious how to approach them…
As if you want to know how heavy a cup is, you put it on a scale…
But how do you approach the “significance of life”?
After all no one has a significance meter out there to put existence into…
So here traditional existentialists starts they measure the significance of life using emotions…
Particularly moods…
Because they think that the meaning of life cannot be measured using intellect or reason…
They assume that using intellect or reason will make us detached from existence…
Or using intellect or reason cannot measure the significance or life because it views life from an outsider’s perspective…
For them living (or existing) is always participatory and involved…
As from their point of view, moods and emotions are good vehicles for providing insights into existence can be…
